Planning a First Private-Label Pet Product Order: A Checklist for Lithuanian and European Buyers

Plan a first private-label pet product order for Lithuania and Europe: compare MOQ, samples, branding, language files, packing and receiving requirements.

For a first private-label pet product order, decide what the pilot needs to prove before adding more models or colors. A usable plan connects the selected product, approved sample, packaging, receiving process and reorder decision—not just a low opening unit price.
This guide is written for Lithuanian buyers and other European importers planning an order from China. It covers procurement decisions, not a legal compliance assessment or a promise that one documentation package covers every European market.

Define the Pilot and Its Limits

Start with the intended sales channel and the countries where the goods will actually be sold. Specify whether you are testing product fit, packaging, customer assembly or the cost of delivering a sellable unit.
Keep the SKU plan explicit. A request for a small trial order does not override the supplier's model or color MOQ. Ask what standard configurations are available before committing to custom tooling or additional colors.
For the LeKee Care EVA pet carrier collection, current references are 300 pieces in regular colors with mixed colors, or 500 pieces per custom color. Confirm the selected model mix and schedule in the quotation. The cardboard cat sofa has a 500-piece MOQ reference.

Choose the Product by the Review You Can Actually Perform

Compare features using an agreed sample review rather than relying on a catalog image alone.
Product
What to review before approval
EVA carrier
Model dimensions, included accessories, closures, base support and an agreed shape-retention check
Flat-packed cat sofa
Complete parts, panel fit, assembly instructions, artwork and protection inside the carton
Both categories
Packaging identity, measured packed size, gross weight and the agreed inspection references
For EVA carriers, the selected model's dimensions and stated capacity need to be considered together. Do not treat a weight figure as proof that every animal of that weight fits comfortably. Our EVA carrier selection guide explains the shell and bottom-support questions to discuss.
For a cat sofa, assemble the sample as the recipient would. Confirm the instructions and complete parts list before approving artwork or bulk packing.

Separate Branding from Product Development

Ask the supplier to distinguish standard-product branding, new packaging artwork, structural changes and tooling. These are different scopes and may have different costs and approval steps.
Record what is included in the sample price, how shipping is paid and whether a sample credit applies to the planned bulk order. Do not assume development or tooling charges will be deducted later. Consult our payment, sample and inspection FAQ, then confirm the applicable arrangement in writing.

Approve Language and Market Files before Printing

A Lithuanian delivery address does not identify every market in which the goods will be sold. Provide the final sales-country list and have the required instructions, labels and supporting documentation reviewed for that product and route.
Assign an owner for each artwork version. Track the approved text, translation reviewer, file date and SKU. If products will be sold in several countries, clarify whether separate packaging versions or an approved shared approach will be used.
Do not ask the supplier to infer the entire compliance scope from the word “Europe.” Requirements and responsibilities must be established separately with the appropriate advisers. A quality inspection does not replace this review.

Compare Loose Cartons and Palletized Receiving

Ask the receiving warehouse how it wants the order delivered. Confirm pallet requirements where applicable, permitted packing arrangements, unloading responsibility and how cartons will be sorted into inventory.
The cat sofa's reference carton is 53 × 14 × 30 cm with one set per carton. At 500 sets, the summed carton volume is 11.13 m³ before pallets, gaps and additional protection. This calculation is not a final freight booking volume or a statement that a particular pallet arrangement has been validated.
For EVA carriers, the current outer-carton reference is 815 × 465 × 505 mm with eight pieces. Verify the final packed sample and measured gross weight. A different handling or packing requirement may change the quotation and transport calculation.
Read our cat sofa packaging and shipping cost guide for the distinction between product dimensions, carton volume and sellable-unit cost.

Set a Release Checklist and a Reorder Record

Before production, agree on the approved sample, specification version and inspection scope. Before dispatch, review the agreed report, packing list and outstanding corrections. Our third-party inspection guide provides a written brief.
After receiving the pilot, record actual packed measurements, receiving issues, assembly questions and customer feedback. Keep observations separate from assumptions. Use this record to decide what stays the same and what changes before the next quotation.
For repeat orders, reference the approved version explicitly. A reorder should not silently introduce a new accessory, instruction file or packing arrangement.

What Should a First Inquiry Include?

Selected product and model, with quantity by color.
Brand artwork and whether structural changes are requested.
Final sales countries and the proposed sales channel.
Sample review deadline and target arrival date.
Loose-carton or palletized receiving requirements.
Required inspection scope and documentation review responsibilities.

Can We Start below the Published MOQ?

Ask whether an alternative standard configuration or available order arrangement can be reviewed. Do not assume a lower minimum is available until it has been confirmed. Avoid budgeting a pilot around an unapproved exception.

Start with a Reviewable Order Brief

Send the above details through our OEM/ODM inquiry page. LeKee Care can discuss the product, sample, branding and packing scope. Final commercial terms and market-specific requirements need project-by-project confirmation before order approval.
