Mixed-SKU Pet Product Orders from China: MOQ, Packing and Lead-Time Checks

Plan mixed-SKU pet product orders from China: confirm MOQ by model and color, carton counts, gross weight, production timing and consolidated or split delivery.

Supplier quotation comparison with material samples, packaging and inspection tools
A mixed-SKU pet product order combines different stock-keeping units in one purchasing plan. It does not automatically mean that different colors, models or product categories can share one minimum order quantity, one carton or one production schedule. Before comparing prices, confirm these three decisions separately: what can be ordered together, what can be packed together and what can be shipped together.
This guide helps importers, distributors and private-label brands turn a proposed assortment into a written order plan. It uses EVA pet carriers and flat-pack cardboard cat sofas as planning examples, not as a promise that any combination is available at a combined MOQ.

1. Separate Mixed Colors, Mixed Models and Mixed Categories

Order arrangement
What must be confirmed
Mixed colors of one model
Minimum quantity per color, available colors and whether the total satisfies the model MOQ.
Mixed models in one collection
MOQ for each model, allowed allocation and whether pricing changes with the split.
Mixed product categories
Independent MOQs, production schedules and responsibility for coordinating the shipment.
Mixed SKUs in one carton
Whether mixed packing is offered, the packing layout, SKU identification and receiver approval.
Separate cartons in one shipment
Consolidation location, readiness dates, handling charges and shipment documentation.
For the current LeKee Care EVA pet carrier collection, the regular-color reference is 300 pieces with mixed colors; custom colors have a reference MOQ of 500 pieces per color. Do not interpret the regular-color allowance as confirmation that KISS, KISS+ and BLOOM can be freely combined toward one MOQ. Request the exact model and color allocation in writing.
The cardboard cat sofa reference MOQ is 500 pieces. Adding pet carriers to the same shipment does not, by itself, reduce that quantity. Mixed-model and mixed-category conditions need separate discussion and written confirmation.
Review the EVA pet carrier collection and cardboard cat sofa collection before building the assortment.

2. Build a SKU-Level Order Sheet Before Asking for a Total Price

Give each model, color and configuration its own line. Identify accessories and packaging revisions: a cover, insert, instruction sheet or retail box can change both the quoted scope and the packing plan.
Order-sheet field
Record for each SKU
Product identity
Model code, color, configuration and buyer SKU code.
Quantity and MOQ
Requested units, MOQ basis and any approved exception.
Unit-price scope
Included accessories, branding and packing; list exclusions.
Sample and approval
Sample revision, open changes, approver and approval deadline.
Packing
Pieces per carton, full and partial cartons, carton dimensions and measured gross weight.
Readiness
Agreed production starting point, estimated ready date and packing or inspection dependencies.
Shipment allocation
Ship together or separately, destination and named delivery point.
If suppliers return only one combined amount, ask for the line-item breakdown. A low total may reflect a missing accessory, different packaging or an excluded service rather than a lower like-for-like cost. Use the pet carrier RFQ checklist for model and configuration details.

3. Calculate Cartons, Volume and Gross Weight Separately

For a SKU packed alone, full cartons = whole-number part of order quantity divided by pieces per carton. Record any remainder as a partial-carton question. Do not assume that the supplier will fill that space with another model or color without agreement.
For example, 300 units at 8 units per carton would require 37 full cartons plus 4 remaining units. Confirm whether a partial carton is allowed or whether the order quantity must change. This is an arithmetic example, not approval of a particular mixed order.

EVA carrier packing reference

The current reference for KISS, KISS+ and BLOOM is 8 pieces per outer carton, with an inner box of 455 × 253 × 205 mm and an outer carton of 815 × 465 × 505 mm. One outer carton has a calculated external volume of 0.815 × 0.465 × 0.505 = approximately 0.1914 m³. Confirm the physical arrangement with an approved packed sample; dimensions alone do not establish how the inner packs fit.
The calculated carton gross-weight references are 5.4 kg for KISS / KISS+ and 3.8 kg for BLOOM, based on unit net weight × 8 plus a 0.6 kg packaging allowance. They are not final measured shipping weights. Do not apply either full-carton estimate automatically to a partial carton or a mixed-model carton.

Cardboard cat sofa packing reference

The reference is one flat-packed set per 53 × 14 × 30 cm carton, approximately 1.2 kg gross per packed set. At 500 sets, the arithmetic is 500 cartons, 11.13 m³ of carton volume and approximately 600 kg gross weight before pallets or extra protection.
These calculations are planning inputs, not a freight quote or a guaranteed container-loading quantity. Keep each product line separate until actual packing is confirmed, then total the shipment. See the cat sofa packaging and shipping-cost guide for related checks.

4. Choose Consolidated or Split Delivery Deliberately

The EVA custom-color production reference is 40 days after sample approval. The cat sofa references are 14 days for sampling and 25 days for production, with the schedule starting point and approvals to be agreed. These are different milestones; they cannot be compared as if both orders start on the quotation date. Regular-color EVA production timing and sample timing require confirmation.
If all cartons must travel together, plan dispatch around the last required SKU that has completed its agreed production, packing and release steps. Confirm whether earlier-ready goods can be stored, for how long and at whose cost.
If splitting the shipment, request separate freight and handling estimates and identify any repeated inspection, documentation or receiving work. Ask who approves the split and whether the quoted delivery scope changes. Do not equate a factory-ready date with arrival at the destination warehouse.
For a destination-specific planning example, see the UAE mixed-SKU import checklist. The order-sheet approach also supports U.S. and European buyers; destination, language files and receiving instructions still need confirmation for each order.

5. Keep One-Time Costs and Release Decisions Visible

Before paying a deposit, list sample charges and freight, branding setup, any tooling or development work, packaging changes, inspection arrangements and the quoted delivery scope separately from unit prices. Confirm which charges recur on repeat orders and which, if any, can be credited under the written agreement.
Agree whether inspection covers each SKU and how cartons will be identified. Approval of one model or color should not silently become approval of the entire assortment. Record any open issue, corrective action and release decision against the affected SKU.
Read the supplier-quote comparison guide and business FAQ on payment, samples and inspection. Final commercial arrangements are discussed case by case and confirmed in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can different products be combined to reach one MOQ?

Not automatically. Confirm the MOQ basis for each model, color and category. A shared shipment is a logistics arrangement, not evidence of a shared production MOQ.

Can different EVA models share one carton?

Do not assume so. Ask for approval of the mixed packing layout, quantities, identification and measured gross weight. The 8-piece reference does not itself confirm mixed-model packing.

Is the combined shipment ready when the first product is finished?

No. For a consolidated shipment, confirm readiness of every required SKU and the agreed inspection and release steps. Alternatively, obtain a separate quote and written plan for split delivery.

Send a Mixed-SKU Order Plan for Review

Send the model and color list, units per SKU, accessories, packaging requirements, destination, required arrival date and preference for consolidated or split delivery. Mark uncertain items clearly so the quotation can state assumptions rather than hide them.
